The Grafana-Prometheus Stack

**Prometheus** scrapes metrics. **Grafana** visualizes them.

1. Install Prometheus

sudo useradd --no-create-home --shell /bin/false prometheus
wget https://github.com/prometheus/prometheus/releases/download/v2.45.0/prometheus-2.45.0.linux-amd64.tar.gz
tar xvf prometheus-*.tar.gz

Create `prometheus.yml`:

  scrape_interval: 15s

scrape_configs:
  - job_name: 'node_exporter'
    static_configs:
      - targets: ['localhost:9100']

2. Install Node Exporter

Node exporter exposes hardware and OS metrics.

3. Install Grafana

sudo apt-get install -y apt-transport-https software-properties-common wget
wget -q -O - https://packages.grafana.com/gpg.key | sudo apt-key add -
# Add repo...
sudo apt-get install grafana
sudo systemctl start grafana-server
